The NSFSN is a network of individuals and organizations that have expressed interest in working to build food security in Nova Scotia.
The Nova Scotia Food Security Network (NSFSN) is a network of individuals
and organizations that are working to build food security in Nova Scotia. We
are eaters, farmers, researchers, nutritionists, civil servants, students,
cooks, citizens, gardeners, parents, and more.
Food security means that all people, at all times, have access to
sufficient, nutritious, safe, personally acceptable and culturally
appropriate foods that are produced, procured and distributed in ways that
are environmentally sound, socially just and sustainable.
The goals of the NSFSN include increasing the proportion of Nova Scotians
who have access to safe, locally produced, nutritious foods and supporting
sustainable food systems in the province. The Nova Scotia Food Security
Network contributes to the implementation of Healthy Eating Nova Scotia.
